Litigation Associate
Analiese Smith is a litigation associate of the firm, Schwartz Perry & Heller, LLP.
Analiese handles a variety of plaintiff-side employment law matters in and around New York City, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, retaliation and contract dispute matters against private, public and non-for profit employers.
Prior to joining Schwartz Perry & Heller, LLP, Analiese worked in litigation as an Associate Attorney at a boutique firm in Brooklyn, NY and at the well-renowned labor and employment firm of Oxfeld Cohen, P.C. in Newark, NJ. Through those experiences, Analiese has represented employees, unions, and businesses in a wide range of legal matters, including commercial and residential contract disputes, management-side employer defense proceedings, and employee-side union grievance proceedings. Analiese has handled these proceedings in multiple forums, including New York and New Jersey state and federal courts, mediation, arbitration and before administrative agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission, the New York State Department of Labor and the New York City Commission on Human Rights.
Before starting her legal career, Analiese earned her J.D. at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating cum laude in May 2022. During her time in law school, Analiese was both a Student Note Candidate and the Executive Symposium Publication Editor for the Indiana International and Comparative Law Review, served as an International Human Rights Law Research Assistant for the Program in International Human Rights Law, and served as a Sexual Harassment Law Research Assistant.
To supplement her legal education, Analiese gained hands-on experience in a variety of settings during law school, dedicating her early career to human rights law. She represented immigrants and domestic violence victims at the Center for Victim and Human Rights in Indianapolis, Indiana, traveled to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as a participant in the Military Commissions Observation Project, and volunteered remotely with the Truth, Reconciliation and National Unity Commission, which is based out of Mahe, Seychelles. Analiese also served immigrants seeking asylum and immigrants placed in removal defense proceedings while volunteering with Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center and Diocesan Migrant and Refugee Services (now Estrella del Paso) in El Paso, Texas.
In addition to her legal career, Analiese serves as an Army Officer in the United States Army Reserve and has done so since May 2018. She is presently serving as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of the 807th Theater Medical Command.
