Schwartz Perry & Heller LLP ENGAGES IN AN AGE DISCRIMINATION DEBATE SPONSORED BY NYCLA
OCTOBER 6, 2008
On October 6, 2008, Murray Schwartz and Brian Heller participated in "The Great Employment Debate: Are Age Discrimination Laws Necessary?" sponsored by the New York County Lawyers' Association (NYCLA), which involved significant issues related to age discrimination in the workplace. Topics covered included current trends in age discrimination, an overview of the laws which provide remedies for age discrimination in the workplace and commonly raised issues regarding liability in age discrimination claims.
We were advised that the comments made by the audience in response to the debate were highly complimentary. The audience appreciated not only the subject matter but the manner in which the debate was presented.
We were highly encouraged to participate in future events which will be conducted in a similar style and, of course, continue to address the significant issues that exist in the field of employment law. We were delighted to participate in this event and look forward to the others that will follow.
