Proceedings Before the EEOC
Trustworthy Counsel from Our New York Employment Lawyer
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is the federal agency
that investigates and enforces discrimination claims under Title VII of
the Civil Rights Act,
the Equal Pay Act, and the
Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA). Most states and cities have their own agencies that enforce state and
local laws against discrimination.
The complaining party may file a lawsuit within 90 days after receiving
a notice of a “right to sue” from EEOC. If you need assistance
with proceedings before the EEOC, or you wish to discuss instituting a
private lawsuit, we will be pleased to meet with you. Our initial interview
will be free of charge. At that time, we will be able to determine whether
we believe we can help you and you will have the chance to decide whether
you wish to invite us to do so.
