April Rancier graduated from Hofstra University School of Law and joined Schwartz and Perry, LLP as an associate in 2009. During the summer after her second year of law school, Ms. Rancier participated in Schwartz and Perry’s summer internship program and realized her passion for employment law. The following spring, Ms. Rancier once again participated in Schwartz & Perry’s internship program and decided she wanted to pursue a career in that field.
Ms. Rancier was selected to participate in Hofstra’s Supreme Court Justice Study Abroad Program, which was held the summer after her first year of law school. The program took place in Sorrento, Italy and Ms. Rancier, along with twenty other students, had the extreme privilege of taking a course taught by United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia.
Ms. Rancier was also an intern for the Honorable Richard LaPera, a Justice of the Nassau County Court. Ms. Rancier also gained significant experience as an intern in the Security Arbitration Clinic at Hofstra.
As a member of Schwartz & Perry, Ms. Rancier has participated in mediations, motions, depositions, discovery, trial preparation and other aspects of litigation. Ms. Rancier mentors the participants of Schwartz & Perry’s current internship program.
