Davida S. Perry, a cum laude graduate of The New England School of Law, has been a civil litigator since 1986 and holds an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell. In 1994, Ms. Perry and her father Murray Schwartz, who initiated his practice more than 55 years ago, created the partnership of Schwartz & Perry. Since the formation of Schwartz & Perry in 1994, Ms. Perry has devoted her efforts almost exclusively towards representing victims of unlawful employment discrimination, including sexual harassment and gender, race, age, disability, sexual orientation and pregnancy discrimination.
Ms. Perry was involved in the Thoreson v. Penthouse Magazine and Robert Guccione appeal to the Appellate Division and also the Court of Appeals and assisted in the briefing and argument of both appeals.
Notably, Ms. Perry served as second chair during the McIntyre v. Manhattan Ford trial, a case involving sexual harassment and retaliation and also participated in all aspects of the appeal. Ms. Perry was significantly involved in the first impression case of Bracker v. Cohen, which affirmed the validity of private causes of action under the New York City Human Rights Law.
Ms. Perry has co-authored numerous articles and publications for programs sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Practising Law Institute.
